This family tree traces the Tigrett family and their related lines, including the Tomlin, Nunn, Black, Hurley, Moss, Pegues, Mayo, Hewitt, Bell, Koonce, Coakley, Anderson, and other connected families. These ancestors migrated to Tennessee and contributed significantly to the development of communities across western Tennessee and the state as a whole. Several descendants later achieved prominence on the national and international stage in business, government, politics, and religion.

Tigrett The earliest known ancestor in the Tigrett family is Samuel B. "Tigert" who was born between 1791 and 1794, perhaps in Kentucky, and purchased land in Franklin County, Tennessee in 1815. About 1828 he migrated to the recently formed county of Madison.
